Keaton’s first foray into feature filmmaking gives us mixed results but show plenty of flashes to the heights he’d reach in the upcoming years in silent comedy.

THREE AGES (1923)—Buster a Keaton’s First Comedy
And we’ve reached the end! Buster Keaton tries to sail away from his heartbreak in THE LOVE NEST, only to end up aboard a ship commanded by a captain who has a rather extreme approach to dealing with crew members who disappoint him.

THE LOVE NEST brings us to the end of Buster Keaton’s short comedies just in time for Silent Movie Day on September 29. Thanks for following along—and next up, it’s time to start working through Buster’s silent feature comedies!

Follow along as I work my way through Buster Keaton’s short comedies, with a new review every day through Silent Movie Day on September 29!

  • Miss Ledyia, 1916
Definitely an amateur production that’s oldly paced.
